The Real Book project was enacted my junior year of my Bachelors of Art degree with a concentration in design.
The goal of this project was to create a design for a set of books that was different then before. The books that I decided to redesign were “The Real Book,” a set of jazz compositions for any instrument that could read the clef it was in. I had setbacks in regards to designing a smaller version of the book, since the actual book is quite large, so I minimized the final design size. I used images from google and traced the pen tool over them to create a unique style where the emotions in the face are heavily detailed but everything else is very simplified.
